The New World fund is an investment vehicle offered by the Capital Group. This fund focuses on investing in developing and emerging markets across the world. The fund also has exposure to the stocks of multinational players that have a significant presence in such emerging markets in the new world. India’s private banking sector makes up around a quarter of the New World Fund’s investments in the country as of February 2024. Other sectors that the fund has focused on include the public banking sector, diversified consumer services, real estate, chemicals & petrochemicals and pharmaceuticals & biotechnology. The overall portfolio value adds up to nearly Rs.20,000 crores, with investments in Max Healthcare Institute, Laurus Labs Ltd, and Au Small Finance Bank contributing to most of the holding percentage.
