India and Singapore have always shared cordial international relations based on a solid foundation of shared economic and political interests. It is no surprise, then, that the government of Singapore is one of the biggest Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) in the Indian financial market. With a net crore of over Rs.1,80,000 crores and investments in more than 45 companies as of February 2024, the Singaporean government has a vastly diversified portfolio spread across several of the top sectors in the Indian market. These sectors include private sector banking, oil & gas, cement and construction, software and services and auto. The stocks that make up most of this FII’s Indian portfolio belong to companies like Reliance, HDFC, ICICI Bank, Bajaj Finance, Infosys, Larsen & Toubro and HUL.
